BEST ACTOR OSCAR WILL BE ON DISPLAY IN CHICAGO & N.Y.C. PRIOR TO ACADEMY AWARDS

R. S. Owens Company, is the manufacturer of the Oscar, Emmy, Stanley Cup & a few other big awards, and it is located in Chicago. The company used to be a customer of mine. On two occasions, I asked if it would be possible to have my picture taken standing next to the statue. Oh no, that can't happen, was the line that I was told. Guess What? I just found out Kodak is sponsoring a display of the Best Actor Oscar, in Chicago. People can have their picture taken with it.

I will finally get a chance to have my picture with Oscar.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is having a display "Meet the Oscars, Chicago" at The Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Avenue.

It will be open from Feb 27 until March 5

R. S. Owens will have several statues in different stages of assembly. The display will also have the Oscar that Bette Davis won, for the film Jezebel, in 1939.

Nominees for the Best Picture award are:

Jeff Bridges for "Crazy Heart,"
George Clooney for "Up in the Air"
Colin Firth  for "A Single Man,"
Morgan Freeman for "Invictus"
Jeremy Renner for "The Hurt Locker."

They will also have a display, in a little town called New York City. It is required by law for Chicagoans to be derogatory to New Yorkers. Saving it is a little town, is about as tame as I can make it. This is a PG rated blog.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will have their New York display at The Shops at Columbus Circle. The dates will be Feb 27 until March 5.

An Academy Award (Best Actress) from the Wizard of Oz, will be on display in NYC
