FUNNY FACE DRINK MIX - DISCONTINUED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Funny Face was a favorite among kids, during the 1960's & early 70's. It was inexpensive & easy to make. It had great advertising with colorful characters. Unfortunately, two of the characters were Politically Incorrect. Injun Orange was supposed to be an American Indian, a.k.a. Native American. What does a Native American have to do with an orange flavored drink mix? I don't know. The other non-P.C. drink mix was Chinese Cherry, with an artist rendering of a perceived Oriental face.

In the infamous words of Sergeant Joe Friday (Dragnet TV character,) "names have been changed to protect the innocent." In other words, they dropped the Injun & Chinese names because they were getting to much flak.

Pillsbury was the manufacturer of Funny Face, they also had a few other flavors, such as:
Freckle Face Strawberry
Loud Mouth Lime
Rootin Tootin Rasberry
Goofy Grape

TV TOY MEMORIES has a full can of Goofy Grape drink mix (FOR COLLECTIBLE PURPOSES ONLY - NOT FOR CONSUMPTION) & a Goofy Grape figural cup. If you wish to purchase the items, you can click on the link for more information.
