WEIRD FOOD PRODUCTS THAT DON'T EXIST ANYMORE - PART 2

Hunt's catsup came out with a Hickory flavored catsup and Pizza flavored catsup, during the mid sixties. I think the flavors sound kind of good, but alas, they were discontinued. They failed to attract enough naive shoppers, like myself. Naive, you ask? Well, what would you call somebody who is willing to spend a lot more for a condiment, simply because it has a few drops of artificial flavoring in it? Naive is the polite word, the impolite word would be STUPID.

This is one example of advertising failing to work it's magic spell on the consumer. Below is a magazine ad from 1965, touting the wonderful new catsup flavors.

For your enjoyment, I have uploaded a TV commercial with the cast of My Three Sons. They are sitting down to a meal and they are using the products on their food.

IT HAS TO BE GOOD. FICTIONAL CHARACTERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT.
