GREAT 1962 TV COMMERCIAL WITH HARRY MORGAN (COLONEL POTTER - M*A*S*H) DOING AD FOR KELLOGG'S

I'm going to show you a great commercial. During the 1950's and early 1960's, sitcom stars would do commercials while they were in character. This commercial is for Kellogg's Special K cereal, which was the sponsor of Harry Morgan's 1962 sitcom.

How come Colonel Potter (M*A*S*H TV character) never did TV commercials for any products? People would have bought anything that the lovable Colonel Potter would have told them to buy.

Harry Morgan was starring in a short-lived sitcom named Pete & Gladys. The show was a spin-off from December Bride, in which he played the same character. The new show focused on his family life with his wacky wife. December Bride had him showing up at the neighbor's house and performing a running gag, he would constantly complain about his unseen wife . Harry Morgan was in more episodes of December Bride (112 from 1954 - 1959) than the show that he starred in. Pete & Gladys aired from 1962 - 1964 and Harry was in 72 episodes.

Now, without any further adieu, here is the commercial:
