I KEEP TELLING MY NIECES THAT THE POEM IS WRONG - LITTLE BOYS ARE MADE FROM SUGAR & SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE - THEY DON'T BELIEVE ME
This 1964 ad for Kellogg's Corn Flakes is a prime example of why I'm probably wrong when I tell my nieces that "Little Boys are made from Sugar & Spice and everything nice" & "Little Girls are made from Puppy Dog Tails."
The little boy in the ad is a slob in training. The little girl is perfection to the 10th degree.
MUST BE A FLUKE - I still believe my version of the poem is correct:

MUST BE A FLUKE - I still believe my version of the poem is correct:
- What are little GIRLS made of?
- What are little GIRLS made of?
- Frogs and snails
- And puppy-dogs' tails,
- That's what little GIRLS are made of.
- What are little BOYS made of?
- What are little BOYS made of?
- Sugar and spice
- And all that's nice,
- That's what little BOYS are made of
