I KEEP TELLING MY NIECES THAT THE POEM IS WRONG - LITTLE BOYS ARE MADE FROM SUGAR & SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE - THEY DON'T BELIEVE ME

This 1964 ad for Kellogg's Corn Flakes is a prime example of why I'm probably wrong when I tell my nieces that "Little Boys are made from Sugar & Spice and everything nice" & "Little Girls are made from Puppy Dog Tails."

The little boy in the ad is a slob in training. The little girl is perfection to the 10th degree.

MUST BE A FLUKE - I still believe my version of the poem is correct:

What are little GIRLS made of?
What are little GIRLS made of?
Frogs and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little GIRLS are made of.
What are little BOYS made of?
What are little BOYS made of?
Sugar and spice
And all that's nice,
That's what little BOYS are made of
