WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A AD FOR SCOTCH BRAND CELOPHANE TAPE - NOSTALGIC LOOK AT 3-M ADS

Scotch brand tape was created in the 1930's, as a means to seal the new invention of cellophane. That tiny niche market has grown expodentially. The company even used to market their product in comic books. OK, I don't get the need to advertise to that demographic market. The company must have seen something that I don't see. Comic book readers are usually children (or the 43rd President) and are not big cellophane tape buyers. I'm guessing the ads are purposedly aimed at the kids and are designed to have the kids nag their parents to buy the product. Most of the ads have a cheap toy that came with the purchase of the tape.

I thought only cereal and candy manufacturers were that sinister.
