I REALLY SHOULD GET OUT OF THE HOUSE MORE - I NEVER HEARD OF GAS REFRIGERATORS

I lead a sheltered life. I'm a city/suburban boy and I never have heard of, let alone, seen a gas powered refrigerator. Posted below are two ads for Servel bottled gas refrigerators, from 1948 & 1950. I decided to investigate, I needed to find information on gas refrigerators. I discovered that Servel is still manufacturing the units. I like to believe that I am knowledgeable on many subjects (expert at none), but just the same, I have never heard of this company. I learned something new from an old magazine ad. INCREDIBLE, but true.
