The comic book ad, that I posted below, has Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble starting out on a BMX bike race. On the route that the race will take place on, Barney finds a sign that points to a shortcut. He moves the sign in the hope that Fred will fall for the trick. Fred, a caveman that is more than happy to take every advantage that he can get, falls for the shortcut ruse. Fred goes down an extremely bumpy and rock-strewn trail. Of course, Barney knew that Fred would attempt to cheat, and was taking advantage of Fred, by not allowing Fred to use the shorter route.

I guess telling the story of the cheating bike race between Barney Rubble & Fred Flintstone, in a comic book ad for Cocoa Pebbles cereal, must be something that the two cavemen (plus, Post cereal/General Foods & Hanna Barbera) believe is a good learning experience for the young children that are big fans of Fred and Barney. Let us see what other fine learning experiences we can get from Fred and Barney.

1) Smoking cancer sticks is good for you (commercial with Fred and Barney smoking - posted below)
2) Misogynistic tendencies, or at least, male chauvinistic tendencies. (while Fred and Barney are smoking, the ladies are mowing the lawn) 
3) Overeating and obesity is good for you. (Brontosaurus ribs brought to Fred's car, so large of an order that it tips the car over. Need more proof? Take a look at Fred's fat belly)
4) Lack of proper foot care and proper foot wear is a good thing. (with four toes on each foot, it is obvious that something happened to Fred. There is a possibility that he had ingrown toenails on each foot, which created an infection and resulted in the amputation of a toe on each foot. Possibly a Saber Tooth Tiger bit them off. A nice pair of sandals would of prevented the Saber Tooth from seeing the mouth-watering morsels. Whatever the truth is, proper footwear is important.)
5) Not being an animal welfare devotee (forcing a dinosaur to lift a multiple-thousand pound boulder with it's mouth, while strapped into a harness, not to mention having an overweight Fred Flintstone sitting on the poor animal's back)
