EDDIE FISHER - FATHER OF CARRIE FISHER & EX-HUSBAND TO DEBBIE REYNOLDS & LIZ TAYLOR PASSED AWAY - OH, YEAH, ALSO AN ACTOR AND SINGER

I never met Eddie Fisher, I have met his first ex-wife and daughter and I like both of them. Just the same, the whole family definitely was not a typical Ozzie & Harriet sitcom. A quote from Eddie about Debbie Reynolds - "Debbie Reynolds was indeed the girl next door. But only if you lived next door to a self-centered, totally driven, insecure, untruthful phony." That was not exactly a loving tribute.

In Eddie's biography, he portrays his ex-wives in a unflattering manner. To be fair, he also owns up to his huge mistakes. The biggest mistake was leaving Debbie for Elizabeth Taylor. After Taylor's husband died, Fisher was trying to "console" her. He "consoled" her right to the alter and bedroom. His career nosedived after the bad publicity.

What goes around - comes around. Liz dumps Eddie for Richard Burton.

Next marriage was to Connie Stevens and then two non-celebrity wives (one at a time, that is.) His marriage to Debbie was under 4 years and the "consoling" marriage to Liz, lasted for almost 5 years. Connie lasted for 2 years and #4 lasted less than a year. His last marriage lasted for 8 years, until her death from cancer.

These celebrities should remember the old line - "Why Buy The Cow When You Can Get The Milk For Free." The non-famous line that I created is even better - "5000 Call Girls In A Lifetime Is A Lot Cheaper Than 4 Divorces."

Posted below, is a magazine ad from 1957, two years before Eddie "consoled" Liz Taylor. The ad is for Western Union and the ad states that Eddie and Debbie are sending telegrams to each of their mothers for Mothers Day. Do you think that is how Eddie told Debbie about his need to "console" Liz to the alter?

AS A SIDE NOTE, ELIZABETH TAYLOR & SUPPOSEDLY HER "CONSOLER" CAME TO A CHICAGO SUBURB FOR THE BURIAL OF HER HUSBAND, MICHAEL TODD. FOREST PARK, ILLINOIS IS THE FINAL RESTING PLACE FOR MR. TODD.
