I'm a big fan of classic 1950's & 1960's sitcoms. I am also lucky to live in a metropolitan area that has a great classic TV station. WCIU has two split signals 26.2 (223 on Comcast) and 26.3 (247 on Comcast) that air old TV shows. Most of the shows are from the 70's, 80's & 90's. During the early morning hours they play 50's & 60's sitcoms. 

Dennis the Menace is one of those shows. Dennis was portrayed by Jay North. He did an excellent job of acting like a rambunctious youngster who always got into trouble. At the same time, he was as polite as could be. Morally & ethically speaking, he was usually the better person, as compared to Mr. Wilson, his next door neighbor. Mr Wilson was always bothered by Dennis doing something. The reality is, Dennis made Mr. Wilson a better person. Mr. Wilson was self-absorbed and a lot of the time was a phony. The true feelings of friendship that Dennis had for Mr. Wilson broke through the barrier wall of self-absorbtion that Mr. Wilson usually exhibited.

The program was sponsored by Kellogg's. The cast of the show made several TV commercials, which I have posted below.
