C. W. Post is 156 years old today. He looks good for his age. He does look a little stiff, but what can you expect? He has to sit outside 24/7/365. It gets quite cold in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he is perched atop a tall pedestal. He is sitting a few blocks away from his competition - KELLOGG'S.

Old C.W. was a customer of Dr. Kellogg, at a health sanitarium that the fine doctor ran. Dr. Kellogg, in my humble opinion was a nut to the hundredth degree. The daily enemas and no-sex ideas of Dr. Kelloggs sounds like they might have come directly from Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Bagger from Delaware. Christine may, or may not, be several hundreds of years old. Science has never been able to carbon-date a person who "dabbles" in the occult.

Dr. Kellogg would feed his clients gruel. One day the "slop" accidently dropped on a hot stove. It turned into a corn flake. The accidental breakfast food was served to C.W. Post, who very quickly "borrowed" the idea. C.W. put the product on the market prior to Dr. Kellogg's brother bringing it to the masses. W. K. Kellogg soon followed C. W. Post to the marketplace and surpassed the former breakfast food leader.

By the way, my choice for the free box is Post Raisin Bran. I like Post Raisin Bran over the Kellogg's version. The raisins have more softness to them.
