IF I WERE IN WARREN BUFFET'S SHOES: I WOULD HAVE PASSED ON DAIRY QUEEN - I TOLERATE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM - DON'T LOVE IT

I bet Warren didn't know that he could have bought an Orange Vanilla bar for around $1. He really didn't have to force Berkshire Hathaway to buy Dairy Queen simply to satisfy his desire for soft serve ice cream.

I'm just being silly. I know a billionaire investor isn't going to spend mucho big bucks for a down-on-their-luck mortibund company, just so he can get "free" Dilly bars. If I were in Warren's shoes, I would have let Dairy Queen die a slow death. I know it was a good investment for Berkshire Hathaway, I just can't tolerate soft serve ice cream. The "stuff" that comes out of the Dairy Queen nozzle tastes like what used to be sold in grocery stores, which was called ICE MILK.

Since 1994, the FDA has allowed manufacturers to sell Ice Milk labeled as a low-fat ice cream. It is just a CHEAPER version of ice cream, with a lower fat content. Even my beloved frozen dairy dessert - grocery store ice cream, is usually a disappointment. The hard ice cream manufacturers, like Edy's ice cream, have used a trick to make their ice cream seem like it has a higher fat content. They whip air into the mixture. The whipped concoction supposedly tastes like what ice cream used to taste like. Ah, no, it doesn't. It is a far cry from the "GOOD OL'E DAYS"

My point is, as bad as the hard ice cream is - DAIRY QUEEN SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM is ten times worse. It tastes like a very, very, very weak ice cream.

I'm sure Warren has a fond memory of Dairy Queen. It is too bad that Warren didn't have a fond memory of a better quality frozen desert. I TRIED DAIRY QUEEN ONCE AFTER WARREN BOUGHT THE COMPANY, AND THAT IS ENOUGH FOR ME.

Time for me to buy an electric ice cream maker, the trouble is, I'm lazy. When I want ice cream, I want it NOW.

Posted below is a Dairy Queen ad from 1951. The picture looks so good, I could lick the ice cream creation right off the piece of magazine paper. The trouble is, I know how advertising is deceptive. Products are never as good as they look. See if you agree with me. The ad will probably convince you get in your car to find your nearest DQ store, so that you can satisfy a soft-serve ice cream craving.

Maybe Warren can send me a sales commission check. I'm sure that this ad will make the sales zoom off the charts.
