Of all of the incredible male actors that have portrayed females on stage (hopefully, nowhere else) this video clip of Jack Benny portraying Gracie Allen is my second favorite. Actually, it is tied for second.

6) Tony Curtis as Josephine, in the movie Some Like It Hot
7) Tom Hanks as Buffy Wilson, on the TV show Bosom Buddies
8) Peter Scolari as Hildegard, on the TV show Bosom Buddies

The absolute worst portrayal (ON PURPOSE) was by Gene Hackman when he dressed as a Drag Queen, in the next to the last scene, in the movie Birdcage.

Jack Benny has done an incredible job of imitating Gracie's timing and her body language. All that I can say, Jack Benny was an incredible comic actor. In my opinion, he was very good as a standup comic, but he was incredible when he performed a comic role on stage. A true genius.
