This classic comic book ad was brought to us by the U.S. Rubber Company, the parent company of Keds sneakers. Superstar (in that era) George Mikan is the spokesman for this classic line of shoes.
During the sixties, every boy wore Keds to gym class. By the way, those shoes were A LOT CHEAPER than Air Jordans. Parents didn't have to take out a 2nd mortgage to buy a pair of gym shoes.
