HERMAN MUNSTER - BIG KID WITH COOL AMT MUNSTER KOACH TOY
Herman Munster is the biggest and sweetest kid living inside a MONSTER'S body. Fred Gwynne was incredible. Putting that makeup on instantly stole Fred's inhibitions. Other people played the role of Herman Munster (John Schuck - Sergeant Enrite on McMillan & Wife & Edward Hermann - played FDR on Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years) and failed to produce the same childlike excitement that Fred was able to portray. Once again, Fred Gwynne was INCREDIBLE.
Excellent dramatic actors like John Schuck & Edward Hermann probably think comedy is "a breeze." Ah, no, it isn't. A comedic actor can do drama, but rarely can a dramatic actor perform comedy with any degree of competence. I am a fan of John Schuck (he was the Klingon prosecutor / Ambassador during the trial of Kirk & McCoy in the movie Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country.) Edward Herman did an incredible job as FDR, in addition to his many other roles. In my humble opinion, top notch drama actors can not match a top notch comedic actor performing in a comedy role.

Only 72 episodes were made during The Munster's two year run on CBS. The show is definitely a cult classic today. During the early to mid sixties, kids were in love with the wacky monster family. AMT made two wonderful Munster car models - THE DRAGULA & THE MUNSTER KOACH. Posted below are two comic book ads designed to draw the young readers into the dual worlds of model making, and the imaginative world where Herman Munster is a "normal" human being going to work everyday at the funeral home, and then coming home to help his wife raise a youngboy werewolf.

In the town of Volo, Illinois, the original Dragula drag racer car is on display, located at the Volo Auto Museum . Who knew that Herman & Lily Munster were a two car family? How cool is it to be able to be within inches of the Dragula? I experienced that feeling of "coolness" when I was at the museum. Posted below is a photo that I took of the car along with a model of Herman Munster (at least, I think it is an inanimate model - it is possible that Grandpa could have put Herman in stasis) sitting in the driver's seat.
