According to this comic book ad, John Wayne is a big fan of Popsicles. He is endorsing the delicious frozen treat, along with a tie in promotion for his movie Alamo.

It has to be true, John Wayne wouldn't lie to us, would he?

Rumor has it, John would buy thousands of cases of popsicles. Supposedly a refrigerator tractor trailer was brought on to the movie set of Alamo, so that Mr. Wayne could enjoy several frozen treats during each of his filming breaks. Sometimes, he would stir his double scotch and soda with a cherry popsickle. Yummy, yummy, for his tummy.

John was so afraid of his tough guy persona being destroyed, he actually purchased thousands of cases of popsicles using an alias. I have in my possession written proof of Marion Michael Morrison having purchased 10,000 cases of popsicles sometime during the later part of 1959, which is when he was filming Alamo.
