I really get a kick out of the "UNINFORMED" people who can't understand that a social program is not equal to the Nazi Germany style of Socialism. During 1956, Arch-Republican, President Eisenhower proposed and pushed for the Interstate Highway System to be built. In the Senate, Al Gore (father of VP Al Gore) was the leader of the pro-Interstate Highway bill. Al Gore Sr. was the father of the Interstate Highway system (just like his son was the guiding force behind the internet - HE WAS ONE OF FIVE PEOPLE WHO INVENTED, OR WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INTERNET.)

Posted below is a 1963 magazine ad that shows the amount of Interstate highway miles that had been built in the seven years since the passage of the bill. As I said, the ad was from 1963, and since that time 100% of the highway miles have been created. Approximately 90% of the money came from federal tax dollars. Even if you didn't drive a car, you still had to pay taxes to finance the Interstate Highway system. Even if you did drive a car, but only drove 2 miles a week to church on Sundays - you still paid for the Interstate Highway system. It didn't matter how much you directly had a need for the Interstate system, your taxes were paying for a NEEDED SOCIAL PROGRAM.

The same applies to your local police & fire departments. You might live your entire life without needing the police or fire departments, but your taxes still pay for the services. That is the definition of a SOCIAL PROGRAM.

The "UNINFORMED" people who complain about not wanting the government to decide health care issues will readily allow an insurance company ACCOUNTANT to decide if you should get a medical treatment. In my humble opinion, that is really "UNINFORMED."

The "UNINFORMED" like to repeat the "UNINFORMED" clap trap that sprang from the polar opposite orifice of Rush Limbaugh's mouth. They like to say that government can't do anything as well as private industry. To the "UNINFORMED" readers out there, that is pure "UNINFORMED BULL POO POO, TO THE MILLIONTH POWER"

All of the "UNINFORMED" health care bill protestors, that used the public water mains to bring water to their shower stall, just prior to their health care protest, should really think about improving their "INCREDIBLY UNINFORMED" minds. The water mains, highways, airports, trains, Social Security, Medicare, air traffic controllers, police, fire, park districts, libraries, and countless other programs are financed for the better good of society, even if you don't have a need for the services - YOU STILL PAY FOR IT. That is what INFORMED PEOPLE call a social program, or what the "UNINFORMED" mistakenly refer to as SOCIALISM.

On the magazine ad / highway map that I posted below, you will see the massive amount of Interstate highways that have been built since 1963. The white lines are highways that have not been started. The red lines are completed roads, and the striped lines are roads that are under construction. If we didn't have a social program that provided needed services, like the Interstate Highway system going to less populated states, then Sarah Palin would have a devil of a time getting herself to her $100,000 speaking engagements around the country. You say that, sometimes she flies - well,  the FAA air traffic controllers are also part of a social service program. Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and their ilk are all big users of social services. To the "UNINFORMED," I guess that makes them SOCIALISTS. 



Another annoying thing that the small population RED STATE GOPers recite: "WE DON'T WANT 'OUR' TAX MONEY TO GO FOR THAT." Hey, I've got news for all of you red state residents in Mississippi, Alaska, Arkansas, Utah, Kansas, Montana, etc., you get back far more money than you send to Washington DC. I live in Illinois and we get back 75 cents for every dollar that we send to D.C. Sarah Palin and her fellow Alaskans get $1.84 for every dollar sent to the federal government. In other words, the high population, and high density states SUPPORT their poor brethren - ANOTHER FORM OF A SOCIAL PROGRAM, you "UNINFORMED POO POO HEADS."
