A FOND LOOK AT "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET" WITH RICKY NELSON AND OLDER BROTHER DAVE
Seeing that I am older than dirt, I remember the 1950's sitcom that starred America's favorite family. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet was a very popular program, which was created by the star of the show. Ozzie Nelson was an early TV mogul, he created, produced, wrote, directed and starred in the show. Ozzie was also the driving force behind the meteroric rise of his son's musical career. Granted, Ricky Nelson was a very talented singer, and he was very handsome, but just the same, his career went into overdrive because of his ability to promote himself for free on his family's sitcom.
The family was the corporate spokespersons for several corporate products. Kodak was one of their corporate puppet masters. Kodak and Quaker Oats Company kept the family swathed in all of the comforts of 1950's America. Thanks to Ozzie, the family led the good life - until 1985, when Ricky died in a plane crash.
The NTSB official government report stated that the fire that started inside the plane, and was the ultimate cause of the crash, was the result of a faulty space heater. There couldn't be any possibly that there was "pressure" from influential people to bend the results. Bending them away from the implication of a drug related freebasing accident. I mean, government officials are 100% immune from pressure given by influential people, especially when the results are not 100% conclusive. They would never "bend" the results to make the influential relatives happy. Government officials are beyond reproach. Government officials have the highest standards of integrity.
Posted below is a magazine ad, promoting the 1956 lineup of fine Kodak cameras.

Since everybody is smiling in the picture, then everything has to be perfect in their lives. People can't hide their true feelings with a phoney smile - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. A smiling family picture that is plastered inside millions of magazines is a common occurence for many American families. It doesn't mean that Ozzie Nelson was a domineering father that PUSHED his family into doing things that they didn't want to do. Smiles on everybody in the picture proves that is not the case - SMILES DON'T LIE.

Posted below are two TV commercials from "family breakfasts" that Ozzie filmed. I would have loved to have heard the "sweet" comments that "America's favorite TV family" said to each other after the cameras were turned off. In my humble opinion, I doubt the syrupy sweet Ozzie on film was the same Ozzie in real life.
