DOUBLE ENTENDRE AD FOR DOC'S "HARD" LEMON DRINK MIGHT BE TOO SUBTLE FOR THE DIRTY MINDED - WHO ALSO HAPPENED TO BE "SLOW."

Anheuser-Busch created a niche product, which went by the name of Doc's "Hard" Lemon Malt drink. The company purposedly implied that that the product was from a small Mom & Pop operation. The advertising never mentioned the beer giant's corporate name.

The public loved these type of niche liquor / wine cooler / malt drinks - for about 10 years. The party is over. Most of the niche products have bit the dust. Doc's Hard Lemon is one of the "deceased" brands.

While they were around, their advertising agency produced great Double Entendre ads for the "DIRTY MINDED" consumer. That doesn't mean that the parent company never comes up with a sexually suggestive ad. I have also posted a great Budweiser ad, which definitely has a double meaning.

I think the Doc's ad might be a little too subtle. If the bottle was moved over to the left side of the picture, only the incredibly naive consumer would fail to see the double meaning. The ad shows a young female plumber with her rear end up in the air. The bottle is nearby.

The other ad is a 2-page ad, showing an image of a bottle of frosty cold Budweiser, with the beer dripping from the bottle. The number one rule in advertising - SEX SELLS, and Budweiser is the #1 beer in America.
