WHEATIES AD WITH A HUGE FOREIGN LICENSE PLATE PHOTO OF A FUTURE-TO-BE "AXIS OF EVIL" COUNTRY
How the world changes? General Mills created a comic book ad for Wheaties, which had an innocuous promotion of foreign license plates, which were packed inside each box. The company felt comfortable about placing a huge photo of a license plate, from a future-to-be "Axis of Evil" country (Iran) in an incredibly prominent location on their cereal advertisement. Obviously, the company couldn't see into the future, but it is funny how a country that was once considered to be friendly is now an enemy. The world constantly changes, it is incredible.
The license plates are quite valuable. There is a BUY IT NOW auction on ebay, that has the Iranian ("Axis of Evil") license plate and three others for a reasonable price of $35.
