WINTERSET, IOWA - HOMETOWN OF MARION MICHAEL MORRISON (A.K.A. "TOUGH GUY" JOHN WAYNE)

I was driving through Iowa, and I saw a sign that promoted the hometown of "TOUGH GUY" John Wayne. The guy who always carried a phoney-baloney prop Winchester rifle in the movies, but couldn't find the courage to carry a M-1 rifle in a WW 2 combat situation. John Wayne was 34 years old when WW 2 started.

Jimmy Stewart was a fellow ULTRA CONSERVATIVE, and he was 33 years old when WW 2 started. Stewart served as a bomber pilot during the war. He even asked for help from his commanding officer to get into the "action." He had no desire to continue to train other pilots, while the "real" war was taking place. While Jimmy placed his life on the line for his country - John Wayne was promoting his latest 2-dimensional hero worship movie.

John Wayne seemed to be a typical ULTRA CONSERVATIVE, who probably had important "contacts," who were probably able to aid him in squirming out of his military service commitment. The U.S. Military service desperately needed all able bodied men to protect their country - unless you happen to be a two dimensional HERO .

Yeah, MARION MICHAEL MORRISON - A TRUE PATRIOT.

Well, Winterset, Iowa paid big bucks to erect a beautiful statue. I had to see a statue of a 2-dimensional hero (a.k.a. a hero on movie film only.) For your enjoyment, I have posted several photographs. Surprisingly, John Wayne might have been a 2-dimensional hero, but the statue was 3-dimensional.

LOOKING UP AT STATUE

FIRST TIME I EVER LOOKED UP TO JOHN WAYNE - LOOKING UP AT A HOLLOWED OUT BRONZE STATUE, OF A 2-DIMENSIONAL CELLULOID AMERICAN HERO.

That is the type of hero that Congresswoman, and "HISTORY RE-WRITER," Michele Bachmann truly loves. Michele recently claimed that John Wayne was born in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa.

AHH, MICHELE, IT WASN'T JOHN WAYNE - IT WAS JOHN WAYNE GACY, A SERIAL KILLER, THAT WAS FROM WATERLOO.

She was given a chance to take it back - SHE COULDN'T DO IT. SHE STUCK WITH IT.

In her mind, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa - EVEN IF HE WASN'T.

CAN ANYBODY SPELL D-E-L-U-S-I-O-N-A-L?

In the very funny comedy THE BIRDCAGE, which starred Robin Williams & Nathan Lane, John Wayne was used as the model for a "real man." Nathan Lane's character (Albert Goldman) was a drag queen in a gay cabaret show. His partner (business & life), who was played by Robin Williams (Armand Goldman), had once had a dalliance with a woman, which had created a child out of wedlock. Armand's son is grown up, and is now planning on getting married to the daughter of an ULTRA ULTRA CONSERVATIVE U.S. Senator. The Senator would never allow his daughter to marry into an "unconventional" family. Something had to be done.

Armand has to teach Albert the correct way to act like a "macho" man. The 100% effeminate Albert is having a very difficult time. Armand wants to see Albert's walk, which not surprisingly turned out to be VERY EFFEMINATE. Armand suggests that Albert walk like John Wayne - A REAL MAN'S MAN. The walk was almost an exact copy of Duke's walk, which also turned out to be a VERY EFFEMINATE looking walk.

I have posted a clip from that very funny scene.
